Apogee provides software, licensing, support, charge capture, billing, collections, benchmarking, safety processes, and reporting through its proprietary Hospitalist management system for a percentage of gross collected revenue.

Revenue Recognition

  • Charge Capture - Real-time, on-site, charge capture and transmission with daily audit of input integrity. Historical error rate of less than 1 in 10,000 submissions.

  • Billing and Collections - Fully integrated with charge capture system, but outsourced to our exclusive vendor with 29 years in the industry.

  • Coding Analysis - Trends individual physician and group coding patterns and offers comparisons to the mean.

  • Payor Contracting and Credentialling - Allows Apogee to leverage its footprint with payors to expedite credentialling as well as negotiate favorable rates with payers.

  • Claim Scrubbers - Each claim is scrubbed twice; once for clinical validity/accuracy and again based on payor specific logic.

  • Medical Record Completion - Daily reporting of medical record visits by physicians, along with undictated, unsigned and delinquent records.

Patient Safety

  • PCP Communication Suite - PCPs are automatically notified by fax-email of all inpatient admissions, consults and discharges which include the name and pager number of the attending Hospitalist.

Clinical Effectiveness

  • Daily Scoreboards - Tracks individual and group productivity compared to goals; trends data over 30, 60, and 90 day time frames; examines admission, consult and encounter volumes; average charge per encounter; average encounter per physician and group aggregate.

  • Hospitalist Report Card - Monthly summary of financial, quality, safety and service metrics.

  • Length of Stay Reports - Compares individual physicians and practice groups, by payor class, to Apogee benchmarks; severity adjusted if hospital furnishes the relevant data set.

  • Patient Information Coordinators (PICs) - Apogee employs PICs to perform data/charge capture, information processing, and patient care transition coordination at each of its sites. These are full time employees and are on site at the hospital at least five days per week and up to seven days per week if volume dictates. The PIC insures communication with referring physicians as well as provides post discharge communication with patients and families.
